Free Energy Saving Products

You could receive over $200 in energy-saving products,

such as LED bulbs, for free.

Are you eligible for free energy saving products?

In the average Australian home, 40% of energy is used for heating and cooling, 23% for water heating, 7% for lighting and 3% for standby power#. You could be eligible for energy saving products that will reduce home-activity energy use, helping you save on your electricity bill.

As part of the South Australian Government’s Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES), and in partnership with Trade Services SA, we’re offering energy saving devices such as LED bulbs, standby power controllers, showerheads and chimney balloons.

Free energy saving products for the home

Electricity

LED A bulbs. Switch your home’s old and inefficient bulbs to energy efficient LEDs. LED bulbs can light your home using far less energy than incandescent bulbs, while providing full brightness the moment they’re switched on.

AV and IT standby power controllers. Reduce the energy use of TVs, computers and other appliances with standby control. Standby power controllers automatically turn off appliances when they’re not in use, preserving energy while saving you money.

Water and heating

Water-saving showerheads. Heating water accounts for 23% of the energy used in an average Australian home, with much of that used in the bathroom#. Installing an efficient showerhead will save water and slash your energy consumption.

Chimney balloons. Keep your home at the right temperature. A chimney balloon seals your open chimney flue when it’s not in use, improving the effectiveness of air conditioners and heaters. It’s a simple solution to increase the energy efficiency of your home.

Who is eligible?

REES assistance is available to South Australian households. With our partner Trade Services SA (TSSA), we can provide services and free or discounted products under the scheme, even if you’re not an AGL customer.

If you have received a REES activity at your current address you may not be eligible for the same product again, such as a water-efficient showerhead.

Low-income households may also be eligible for a free home energy assessment.
